Baseball

Our baseball league offers several division.  The divisions are broken down by recommended age, but player skill may also determine where a player is placed (drafted).  The division are as follows.

4 Year Olds

4 YEAR OLD PROGRAM (Play Ball!!)
The 4 year old program is very instructional based and really just a lot of fun for boys and girls. The majority of all teaching (practice) and games will take place on Saturday mornings and will last for about 45 minutes. The season will begin in late April with a parade on Opening Day and continue until Late June. It's an 8 week schedule with a break on Memorial Day Weekend. The 1st couple of weeks are set up like a teaching clinic; very basic instruction for hitting and fielding is given to all the kids by all the coaches. In the remaining weeks the teams actually play games on our "4 year old diamond" it is the coolest thing. All kids will hit off a T and are sent off to scurry around the bases. The season ends with a Trophy presentation given by their head coach.

Rookie

ROOKIE (Age 5-6)
This is a coach pitch league that allows for a batting tee, if needed, for developing players. The basics of Hitting, throwing, running, and fielding are stressed in a fun filled atmosphere.

AAA

AAA (Age 9-10)
Pitchers and catchers are developed at this league, and stealing is introduced. Players have to learn to play within the rules of baseball and develop their skill accordingly.

JUNIOR

JUNIOR (Age 13-14)
These teams will travel to various other Babe Ruth Leagues as well as host other leagues in a high school preparatory environment.

AA

AA (Age 7-8)
Coach pitch (NEW). This develops confidence in batting, so the fundamentals can be taught from the mound. Catchers can be developed earlier.

MAJOR

MAJOR (Age 11-12)
This is our competitive league. This league plays modified high school rules but the entire line-up will bat and there is free substitution.

TRAVEL BASEBALL

TRAVEL BASEBALL (all age groups)
Travel baseball requires a greater level of time and commitment than the traditional recreational league from both the parents and the child. Fundraisers normally begin in late fall and limited indoor practice may start in December for most teams. Some teams may play up to 60+ games in a single season and is at the pure discretion of the head coach.

The Backstop

The Backstop is the newsletter for our organization. It will be available Saturdays at the concession stand. We plan on highlighting little known rules, notices that everyone should be aware of, important dates, and our kids, especially when a special feat is achieved (such as a no hitter or home run).
